About Rick

I was born and raised in Spokane and am the 2nd oldest (oldest son) of seven siblings.  My father is a retired District Court Judge and my youngest brother, Mark, a retired County Commissioner.  I grew up always being involved in and interested in the issues that challenge and shape this great city we live in.  I continue to do so sitting for my third term on the Spokane Realtor Associations Board of Directors, as well as, numerous other committees.  I was blessed in my younger years to not only play many sports, but coached many of my son Patrick and daughter Marissa’s sports teams.

Music has always been a passion of mine and I am blessed to have been a part of an A Capella Quartet called “Top Flite”.  We had a long run of singing at local venues including four times as the headline guest artists with the Spokane Jazz Orchestra shows at the Met.  Truly great memories I will savor forever.

Prior to getting my Real Estate License in 1988 I owned and operated Rick’s Landscaping for 15 years, allowing me to employee 75+ people through the years.  It allotted me the opportunity to explore my creative juices and to leave my mark on this town.  Today when driving around town I can see the mature landscapes I designed and installed in the 70’s and 80’s.

I was a longtime member of “The Downtown Optimist Club” and am currently a 10+ year member of Executive Women’s International (EWI) of which I was the very first male member.  The friendships I have formed with that will be life-long.  I am more than “a little nostalgic” and have worked on all of my class reunions for Ferris High School.  I also went to Gonzaga Prep my first two years of high school and to SCC, SFCC and Eastern Washington Colleges.

I love people and cherish my friends and friendships.  I can’t think of a better profession that would allow me to spend time with old friends as well as form the many new friendships I do every year.  Having the chance to help others accomplish the homeownership dream is a big deal to me and I take it seriously.  Having done so since 1988 has allowed me to hone my skills to a point that I am a good negotiator and I get along well with all the other Realtors, which many times can make or break my clients getting what they want.

I love my job and can’t imagine doing anything else for a living.  I get up every morning looking forward to the challenges each new day brings and the opportunity to serve my clients using the skills and tools I have acquired over so many years, as well as, the anticipation that I may also make a new friend that day!
